MICHAEL PONCE DE LEON
Studio Owner
Michael was born in saucy Havana, Cuba. Ever since he could remember, his parents encouraged him to dance, but he did not take dancing seriously until he was 13 and discovered girls. At the age of 16 Michael became a dance instructor and three years ago he joined the Fred Astaire franchise and became a studio owner. He believes dancing is the best business in the world to meet and connect with great people and train a talented staff.
ANASTASIA YABROVA
Instructor
Anastasia was born in Kraknoyarsk, Russia and a ballet and modern dance background helped her enhance her knowledge in ballroom dancing. After moving to the US in 2007, she pursued a professional dancing instructing career and now lives her life’s passion of teaching people how to dance.
BEATRICE LOPEZ
Instructor
Beatrice was born in Brooklyn, New York and started with a musical theater, acting and singing career but over the past years she dedicated her love and enthusiastic personality to hip-hop and ballroom dancing. As a professional dance instructor, she obtained the 2008 Fred Astaire National Novice Champion title. Way to go, Beatrice!
LINO HERNANDEZ
Instructor
Lino was born and raised in Santa Clara, Cuba. “In our country, dancing is a big deal and a great part of our life”. Lino’s family moved to the US in 1998 and a few years later ballroom dancing became an addition to his already extensive Latin dancing background. Lino loves helping students understand what dancing can do for them.
MARTIN MATA
Instructor
Began his passion for dancing in college in Santa Fe in Gainesville, FL where he receive a visual and performing art scholarship which he worked with such companies as the Maximum Dance Company, David Parson’s Dance Company, Shapiro and Smith Dance Company. Martin enjoys spending time with family and friends, going to the beach, but most of all sharing his love for dancing with everyone.
